The NorthWood Alternative School Program Is directed by Mr. Bruce Cannaday and provides a positive, meaningful learning experience for students who have not been successful in a traditional school setting. The alternative school strives to provide a safe environment, conducive to learning where students are encouraged to make positive choices concerning their high school education. Students attend either an a.m. session or a p.m. session. Each session houses 15 students who work primarily on PLATO computer courseware that is self paced and mastery based.

Bruce Cannaday is a graduate of Noblesville High School. He has a BS from ISU and a MAE from BSU. Mr. Cannaday has taught for 26 years. Prior to Wa-Nee Schools he was teaching at Carmel High School. The last 24years he has worked for Wa-Nee Schools: 17years at NWHS – Industrial Technology 6 years at NWMS – Careers 2nd year at NWAS
