Jim Matz attended St. Joseph High School in South Bend. He graduated from Purdue with a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education and Mild Disabilities.
Mr. Matz has taught Math, English, Economics, Health, and Geography in a Self Contained and Co-Teaching Environment.
He taught for 4 years at Elkhart Central High School, 1 year at Goshen Middle School, and has been working at NorthWood ever since.
His most memorable moment at NorthWood was 2005 Homecoming. He is also NorthWood's assistant wrestling coach. He is married to Emily and has two daughters Payton, who is 5, and Sylvia,1.
