Charles James Hess, (Jim Hess) is married to Marsha Hess and has 2 children named David and Alicia, 3 step kids named Jenni Bergstrom Nicci Lycan and Josh Miller, and 6 grandchildren. He has been teaching U.S. History at the middle school since 1982. He graduated from Plymouth High School in 1973. He then went to Ball State University where he got his bachelors degree. He attended IUSB and received his Masters Degree.
Jim was hired to NorthWood in August 1979. His previous career before NorthWood included Clothing Retail at L.S. Ayres in 1977-79. He has been coaching freshmen football since he was hired. He also coaches 8th grade girls basketball. Other teams he has coached before are J.V. girls basketball and assistant freshmen boys basketball.
Some of his most memorable moments at NorthWood include the Football State Championship in 2005, the Girls State Championship in 1999, and he led the 8th grade Girls Basketball Team 19-0 in 2005.
