Charles Smith
is married to Kathy Smith, and has two children, Charles Christopher and Heidi, and
6 grandchildren. He attended Concord High School; then attended Taylor University, Goshen College, and the University of Maryland for a B.S. in Math Education and a Masters in Education and Secondary Administration. He has taught math
up through calculus, web design, and yearbook. He has taught for 37 years, and was hired here in August of 2008.
His previous careers included vice principal, guidance director, teacher's union president, computer programmer, and a loading dock foreman. His most memorable moment at NorthWood is his involvement with the Chess Club, and he ranks in the top 5% in the world at analytical chess on gameknot.com.
